In this article, I underscore the pivotal role of language teacher educators in TESOL and highlight their influence beyond the classroom. Reflecting on receiving the 2024 TESOL Teacher of the Year award, I acknowledge the contributions of language teacher educators to my own journey. Their mentorship and innovation foster a ripple effect, shaping future generations of teachers and learners.
The Importance of Teacher-Led CPD

Educators working in Latin America face numerous challenges, yet there are reasons to be optimistic. Thanks to the increasing number of online-based CPD and entrepreneurship opportunities, teachers interested in making career progress no longer need to rely on their employers. This shift, which is the direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, may eventually lead to an improvement in teacher education in the region.

Why Educators Should Attend Professional Conferences

Last March, I stood a chance of presenting at the largest annual meeting of English language teaching professionals: the 2024 TESOL International Convention and Expo in Florida, USA. As a teacher, researcher, and teaching quality manager back in my home country, the experience was a goldmine for my professional development.
