Topic: Teaching Teachers To Utilize Generative AI

Deadline for Submissions: 1 October 2026

We are delighted to invite submissions for the forthcoming issue of the Teacher Educator Interest Section Newsletter, titled "Teaching Teachers to Utilize Generative AI." In this issue, we hope to hear how teachers are teaching and learning about the uses of generative AI in second and foreign language classrooms.

Generative AI is upon us and many of us are scrambling to find ways to make it relevant and useful in our classrooms. As teacher educators, our students come to us for that guidance and information. It is critical that we start to discuss and share how we are working with generative AI and supporting teachers to use it in their classrooms.

Whether you are a language teacher, teacher educator, researcher, or administrator, we invite you to share your research, experiences, and strategies for generative AI use in the language classroom.

We welcome submissions in the form of research articles, practitioner reflections, case studies, or practical strategies for teaching with and using generative AI.

Submission Types

Articles
Articles should be between 800 and 1,000 words and should address the questions and themes outlined above.

Book Reviews
Book reviews of between 300 and 500 words should analyze books relevant to teacher empathy, relational teaching, or emotional intelligence, offering insights into their contributions to the field.
