Letter from the Editors
Christy Williams, American Youth Academy, Temple Terrace, Florida, USA
Alisha Biler, Boyce College, Louisville, Kentucky, USA
Happy New Year, RV-IS Members and Friends,
We are delighted to bring you the READ-VOC Newsletter, 2025 Issue 1.
In this edition, we are pleased to present two submissions. The first article comes from Michelle Kang offering a teaching tip in discovering how AI-powered tools can transform high school Vietnamese students’ understanding and engagement with Shakespearean English in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and As You Like It. Our second article comes from Adil Bentahar recommending teachers to focus on their own reading habits to inspire and influence their students’ reading habits.
If you are attending and/or presenting at the TESOL International Convention, please consider sharing your work and the insights gained at the Convention for our next newsletter. Also, please let us know of presenters whose work would be great to share here. Ask them to contact us, or tell us whom to contact.
Please note the announcement on the Sidebar for the Newsletter regarding upcoming events at the TESOL convention.
This is the final issue that Christy will be co-editing, so consider applying for this position or suggesting this opportunity to a colleague. Please contact our outgoing Chair, Larry Zwier [email protected]) or incoming Chair, Hetal Ascher ([email protected] ).
With utmost respect,
Christy and Alisha
