Call for TESOL Convention Proposals

Published on April 28, 2026

TESOL offers two premier opportunities for English language teaching (ELT) professionals around the globe to share research, exchange knowledge, elevate their practice, and strengthen their networks within a global community dedicated to advancing the field and improving learner outcomes. Across these opportunities, ELT professionals from more than 100 countries engage in sessions on emerging trends, participate in mentoring and research collaborations, explore the latest publications and resources, and gain insight into local and global advocacy efforts.

We invite you to contribute your expertise and be a part of this global exchange.

New This Year! All strand descriptions have been updated to reflect a stronger emphasis on multilingual learners and plurilingual practices. In particular, we are excited to invite proposals for our new strand, Multilingualism, Plurilingualism, & Linguistic Diversity. This new strand creates additional space for cross-cutting and innovative submissions that may not align as closely with other strands. It welcomes proposals on pedagogies, policies, and practices that highlight how people draw on and integrate diverse linguistic resources across contexts, support dynamic multilingualism, sustain linguistic diversity, and critically examine language use, identity, and power. For more detailed information, refer to the Strand Descriptions document

Join the global TESOL community at the TESOL 2026 Virtual Convention and the TESOL 2027 International Convention & Expo to share your knowledge and experience these opportunities in action.

  • TESOL 2026 Virtual Convention: Live and on-demand presentations, 20–21 November 2026
  • TESOL 2027 International Convention & Expo: In-person presentations, including Preconvention Institutes (PCIs), in Houston, Texas, USA, 15–18 March 2027

Engage in dialogue with present and future practitioners, administrators, researchers, and advocacy leaders about language education and policy as you enrich your knowledge, networks, and professional experience.

Connect with teaching professionals, researchers, administrators, future practitioners, and advocacy leaders to exchange perspectives on English language education and policy, share your knowledge, gain new insights, expand your network, and strengthen your practice.
