Meet The Members: SLW News Trainee Editor
Michael Mauricio, University of Texas at San Antonio, San Antonio, TX, USA
It is a great privilege to be the trainee editor for the Second Language Writing Interest Section (SLW-IS). I am Michael C. Mauricio, a multilingual teacher of English from the Philippines and a Ph.D. Fellow at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
As the trainee editor, I am committed to supporting the incoming chair’s vision of creating and promoting a more inclusive, diverse, and supportive space for second language writers. We are dedicated to amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups by seeking out perspectives that are often overlooked and making the SLW-IS a vibrant and engaging space for scholars, educators, and students.
I look forward to working with you in making our community an accessible space for all members across the globe through professional developments that address prevailing and emerging issues in second language writing such as AI, multimodality, CLA, and linguistic justice.
Sincerely,
Michael C. Mauricio
