Letter from the Chair
Polina Vinogradova, American University, Washington, D.C. USA
Dear members of the TEIS community,
I am pleased to see yet another excellent and informative newsletter issue come out under the editorship of Khanh-Duc Kuttig, Bridget Schwarcz, and Vu Tran-Thanh. This one has a special focus on teacher development and mentorship in the Middle East. Thank you to a diverse group of authors for their excellent contributions!
This issue makes an excellent opening to a series of TEIS webinars on the topic of mentorship. Our webinars will start in October, will continue through February, and will explore various aspects of collegial and academic mentorship in TESOL. Please stay tuned for announcements and join us for these important conversations.
I would also like to take this time to extend my sincere gratitude to Khanh-Duc and Bridget who have done phenomenal work over the years and prepared and presented TEIS newsletters with rich and contemporary content. This issue marks the end of their tenure as newsletter editors. Thank you for your tireless work and for setting up the quality bar of our newsletter so high!
This brings me to the announcement that TEIS is looking to recruit two new newsletter editors. Please see the call for editors and details on how to submit your nominations/self-nominations in this issue.
Please enjoy the read, and I look forward to seeing you virtually at our webinars this year.
Sincerely,
Polina Vinogradova
