In this ITA Interest Section webinar, the presenter will share techniques that can be used to help international graduate students improve their vocal variety. These techniques involve students analyzing and practicing suprasegmentals and other features of effective communication and can help them move toward producing these features in their own speech.

PRESENTER

Heather Boldt is the Director of Emory University's English Language Support Program (ELSP), a program that offers courses, workshops, and consultations for international graduate students. Heather has over 20 years of experience teaching in a variety of academic settings, predominantly with graduate students but also with pre-matriculated students, undergraduates, and postdoctoral fellows. Heather is the past president of GA TESOL and a current board member of the Consortium on Graduate Communication. She earned her M.A. in Applied Linguistics and TESOL from Georgia State University.
