Event Description
ALIS & ESPIS Webinar: The ICAO LPRs - towards an awareness of stakeholder skills and interdependency
When:
Dec 2, 2022 from 09:00 AM to 10:00 AM (ET)
Description
Recent research showed the value that key stakeholders in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Language Proficiency Requirements (LPRs) attribute to the skills and knowledge required for each of their roles. This webinar will investigate this research and show how developing these skills and knowledge within an awareness of the interdependency of all stakeholder roles can help the LPR system evolve while addressing important issues as they arise to better ensure effective and safe aeronautical communication.
Presenter
Neil Bullock is an English teacher specializing in aviation and occupational English and runs training courses for teachers to enhance continued professional development. He is also a test development specialist and has managed test development projects for assessment of language proficiency in the aviation world. He is currently General Secretary, and Vice-President of the International Civil Aviation English Association, and his current research interests include technology mediated assessment and assessment literacy.
