Dear Gerlinde,
I am very much interested in a virtual exchange project next spring. What time frame did you have in mind?
I will be teaching around 36 students who will be A2/A2+ in January. They will have one half of the course January to May and the second half from May to August. By August the goal would be for them to be B1. In the past, I was able to coordinate in person meetings with visiting universities. However, our institution is still recovering from the pandemic and it is unclear how visitors will be welcomed next year. Last year, I coordinated with a group in the US and it went well virtually.
If this level is a bit too low, I also will be teaching a course for B2 students from May-August that I can also incorporate virtual exchanges. They would have participated in a Global Seminar with two other institutions from January to May and could benefit with more informal interaction.
Let me know if either of these classes would work.
Take care,

Subject: Virtual exchange partners
I'm an ESP lecturer at a university in Austria (Europe) looking for international partners who are interested in a virtual exchange project next spring. Goal: to develop students EL and intercultural communication skills. I'm thinking of 3-4 meetings (dyads or whole class depending on your time zone). My students are mostly between 19 and 30 years old with a B1/B2 English level.
