What a great topic! However, the proposal deadline for an EVO Session was Sept. 4. This would have been an excellent topic for one of our 5-week sessions January 9 - February 12, 2023. For such a session, it is advisable to have several weekly moderators to discuss topics and projects with participants.
Since you mention Hot Topics, which is a type of panel presentation offered by the Electronic Village (EV) of the CALL-IS at TESOL Conventions, you may be referring to that rather the EVO. Their Call for Proposals, including Hot Topics, is at
https://call-is.org/ev/ Even if you meant the EV (rather than EVO), we would love to hear from you. Both EVO and the EV are part of the CALL-IS. Please do consider proposing your idea for an EVO 2024 session.

Hi! We are interested in submitting a proposal for a Hot Topic related to Hyflex Teaching. However, I am confused as to whether I need to plan for an entire panel with multiple people beyond our panel of 2-3 people or just our own proposal for a 20-minute talk/panel, and then you will create relevant panels from the different submissions you get?
Any direction you can give would be appreciated.

Call for Proposals for EVO 2023 - Deadline: September 4, 2022
The Electronic Village Online (EVO) Call for Proposals for 2023 is now open for English language teaching practitioners and specialists to apply to give 5-week online professional development sessions for teachers worldwide. The actual five-week EVO2023 sessions will take place from January 9 to February 8, 2023. Proposals may be on any topic relevant to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages.

A 4-week free professional development session will be held for all moderators and co-moderators October 16 – November 16, 2022 to help participants with their proposals, create the online spaces for their sessions, and finalize the syllabus with the assistance of the EVO Coordination Team. New moderators are required to attend; returning moderators are encouraged to participate and lend a hand.
