Aloha to all from snowy Banja Luka in Bosnia Herzegovina. I'm a fellow at the local university here and boy, it's getting cold. Not used it. Maybe that's because before Bosnia I was teaching at a high school on Maui, and of course, I miss it, the sunsets, the beaches, the surfing, the paddling and snorkeling, the hiking. I'm here with my wife and twin daughters, who are enrolled in the IB program at a local high school, doing an unplanned Junior year abroad and having lots of fun with the students here. I look forward to being part of this international community.

    Greetings, Piero!

Thanks for sharing your introduction. Talk about geographical extremes!

What are you teaching at the university there? Were you an ESL teacher in Maui, prior?

Welcome to the international community of TESOL!

    Dear Chelsea,

I currently teach composition at a local university and some conversation classes. In Maui I did ESL, English and Social Studies.

    Hey Piero -
Good to hear from you. Wow.  What a challenge to do a fellowship with family in tow.  Good for you.  And what a great opportunity for your daughters to have the international experience and perhaps learn another language!
It would be interesting to know what direction you are heading if doing research or what your interests are if teaching.  Best of luck.

    Richard,

Thanks for the vote of confidence. It has been a challenge, logistically, but one I hope they will see the worth of. As for me, I'm teaching upper class men composition at a local university, and doing some conversation classes at American corner. I'd love to do some creative writing with younger students.
