My name is Daniel Marc Jones and I am an MA student conducting thesis research under the supervision of William Acton, PhD in the MA TESOL department at Trinity Western University. As part of my research, I am collecting survey responses from current or previous language educators. The survey is investigating teacher cognition (awareness, attitudes, beliefs, etc.) related to tabletop game (Monopoly, Uno, Catan, Dixit, etc.) use/non-use in language learning classrooms. It is possible that you are receiving this request through a third party (e.g. professional organization or from someone within your own organization) or directly from the researcher.
Participation in this research involves completing a short questionnaire (20 questions) that should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Most of the questions involve ranking your level of agreement or disagreement with a statement related to the research topic. Additionally, some basic demographic information and follow-up qualitative responses will also be collected. Participation in this research will make a contribution to the language learning field with respect to teacher cognition and materials development.
This research has been reviewed and has received ethics approval through Trinity Western University's Research Ethics Board. However, you have the right to decide whether or not it is in your interest to participate in this research. Participants are free to withdraw participation consent at any point before finalizing the submission of the questionnaire. All questionnaire responses are anonymous, so it is not possible to remove data after final submission. All interested parties (regardless of participation status) can receive a summary of the research findings (completed thesis) by contacting the researcher by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are interested in participating, please access the link pasted below. It will take you to an online questionnaire (hosted by SurveyMonkey).
