    Dear Colleagues,

I've been using Moodle as admin and a teacher since 2003. I'm still excited about learning management system (LMS). I have been offering free online courses to teachers for the past 13 years because Moodle is a life changer for teachers and learners.

I'd like to invite you to take Moodle MOOC 22
https://integrating-technology.org/enrol/index.php?id=268, a free 4-week online course. Participants of the MOOC will create their own Moodle courses and learn to teach online with the resources, activities, blocks, and other plugins available on the Moodle course.

You can also take an advanced Moodle training if you've designed Moodle courses before. You can now learn to be a
Manager of a Moodle Site (MOMS) https://integrating-technology.org/enrol/index.php?id=290

MOMs is a free 5-week online training course for advanced Moodlers. The course includes all the administration sections such as general, users, courses, gradees, plugins, and reports. You will not be able to get such training for free anywhere else so take advantage of the offer.

Advanced Moodle participants will be able to practice on the latest Moodle 4.0 version site called Blended Online Learning https://blendedonlinelearning.com.
Course registrations begin on April 24 and end on May 1 when the course begins. Duration of the course is 5 weeks. Please you can have more time if needed.

Please fill in this form https://forms.gle/w2QUWxqdXqjQZYUWA to add your certificate so you can enrol. Only those who qualify will be able to take the advanced Moodle Manage training course.

Looking forward to seeing you in one of the free online courses in May 2022.

    Warm wishes

    Hi,

One lesson I learned in school, and that I pass on to my students, is never to be afraid to ask a question. Chances are someone else has the same question but is too afraid to ask.  So here goes my question...

    What is (a) Moodle?

I'm not tech-native but not totally naive either.  I'm almost 60 but am pretty good with Zoom, email, Google products, Microsoft products and the like. Not much need for social media, though. Help!

    Thanks,

    Hi Allison,

Thank you for asking. I also encourage my students of all ages to ask, ask, and ask. Every question is a learning opportunity for both us. I will do my best to answer, but feel free to continue asking.

Moodle looks like any other website, but it is build as a learning management system that contains courses that teachers create for learner engagement and tests. The courses are online using web browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox. The number of courses on a Moodle site will depend on the size of the school. The courses include everything a teacher needs to  help learners interact with the content and with the other participants via discussions and activities. The platform is geared for collaborative learning. Teachers add the content (called resources), create the activities that are on the Moodle platform, create badges that relate to the activities, and a certificate at the end for those who complete all the tasks. The content and interactions use text, audio, video, and images.
