    The Department of Communication and Media in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applicants for a non-tenure track position in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) beginning Fall 2021.

    Applicants must have a PhD, EdD, or foreign degree equivalent with certification in TESOL or a closely related area at the time of appointment. Applicants should have prior successful collegiate teaching experience in English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Prior graduate-level teaching experience in pre-service teacher education and academic writing is preferred. Faculty residency is expected.

    The primary teaching responsibilities for this position include preparing non-native English speakers for teaching roles generally aligned with their field of study. There is the possibility of teaching additional courses in writing and oral communication. Depending on qualifications, the teaching load may be one to three courses per semester for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.
