Any suggested topics for research! Where to start?

  • 1.  Any suggested topics for research! Where to start?

    Hello dear friends,

The institution I work in wants us to conduct a research paper every year. I've been reading a lot of research in the field, but I'm stuck. I'm even lost-any suggested topics to topics that are needed these days in the field of ESL?

I appreciate your guidance and advice.

Here's a suggestion:  what makes some words for 'colorful' and dramatic than others?
As a resource, you can use a website I created called www.colwords.com - it has over 1600 interesting colorful words.

    Dear Ebaa:

I would suggest you think about the issues that you face when teaching your classes (e.g., error correction, student motivation, implementing task-based learning) and research those issues.  In this way, you will learn something that benefits your teaching.  The British Council has a Handbook for Exploratory Action Research which you can access here:  https://englishagenda.britishcouncil.org/sites/default/files/attachments/30510_bc_explore_actions_handbook_online_aw.pdf  It might give you some ideas for developing a research project in your own classroom.

    Hi there!
Maybe some work about students' lack of interest.
    All the luck!
