    Monday, July 13th, 2020
    6:00pm to 7:00pm (UTC-05:00) US Central Time

Join the authors of the chapters in Part 1 of Changing Practices for the L2 Writing Classroom (Nigel Caplan, Christine Tardy, Ulla Connor, and Estela Ene) for a discussion of what the five-paragraph essay is, its history, its genre status, and its universality. This is a discussion, not a webinar, so the authors will primarily be available to answer your questions and interact with you and each other around the ideas from their chapters. The session will be recorded for those who cannot attend at the set time.

Not a member of the book club? You can join (and invite your friends and colleagues) at
We will continue our discussion via messages to this online group and our Facebook group.
