Hi! I am a renewing member of TESOL International after a lapse. I'd like to be a more active member this time and I hope to make connections with others in the profession.

Hello Holly, welcome back! Make sure to add interest sections to your profile. Having these additional details displayed on your profile, will be helpful when you start making connections with other TESOLers.

    Hi Holly:

Glad you decided to rejoin TESOL and that you have a desire to be more active this time. The more active you are, the more you will get out of your TESOL association membership!  As Yuliya said, joining some of our communities will enable you to connect with other members who share your interests.  Click on the "Communities" tab at the top to see the different Interest Sections and Professional Learning Networks that are available to you.

I also want to tell you (and everybody!) that this is the time of the year when you can contribute to our annual convention.  The application to serve as a proposal reviewer is open until May 7.  The reviewers help select the sessions that will be offered at the convention by identifying the most relevant, informative, and professionally-presented proposals.

Then, if you'd like to present at the 2022 convention, you can submit your own proposal!  Proposals can be research, practice, or policy-oriented. There are many different types of sessions.  If you are new to presenting, submitting a proposal to offer a 20-minute Teaching Tip session is a good place to start.  June 1 is the deadline for proposal submissions.

Information about both processes can be found here:  https://www.tesol.org/2022Proposals

    Best wishes,
