    Dear TESOL Community,

I am a primary/secondary school teacher in Germany. I would be interested in exchanging and establishing a global network with other schools across our borders, e.g. in England on project work, regular email communications etc. We would be open for all ideas and suggestions. The aim would be in developing a multifaceted and multicultural learning experience for our learners whilst also promoting English as the key language for communicating. Most importantly this would be for my students to engage, practice and improve their English on a once a biweekly or once a month basis.

We are a privately run school state funded based in Brandenburg about 20 km from Berlin.

Please let me know if you would be interested in reaching out to us.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards

    Suzan Bartholomeusz

    Hello Susan,
I like this idea. I would be willing to help. Currently I am helping tutor a 14 year old friend of the family that lives in Passua with English lessons. I am in the States.. We are thinking of relocating to either Germany or Austria
(my wife is Austrian). I do have a couple of questions concerning transcript/degree recognition . If you could help with that at all, it would be very appreciated.
Thanks and have a good day.

    Hello Brian,

Many thanks for your offer. However I am looking for school teachers in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia or New Zealand to establish a long-term exchange program online where students have the option of communicating via email or via different mediums to improve their English. This could also act as a multicultural exchange program where student's school learning and subjects are exchanged by using English as the main communication medium via Edmodo, for example.

As you mentioned you will be leaving to Germany. So it would not be of interest unless you are remaining in the USA and actively teaching there at a school.

Furthermore, I can't exactly advise you on the recognition upon the submission of your transcripts and certificates here as every state differs. You would need to check this with the local authority in your region, which in your case sounds like Bavaria.

    Good luck with your endeavours!

I would be interested in setting up something like this with the ESOL students at my elementary school here in Virginia, USA.  Do you have more details you can share with me about how you would like to start the program, what technology you would use, etc.?

    Thank you.

Many thanks for contacting me. Indeed this would be an opportunity for English learners to exchange their experiences and to converse in order to optimize their English.

Unfortunately, our school in Brandenburg just uses to basics for our teaching programs. I have to admit we are poorly equipped for the digital world/needs concurrently, though this is likely to change here as well.

Nevertheless, I would like to make a headstart in advancing the digitalisation processes here at our school. At the moment we are currently using Zoom and emails for our common digital communication exchanges.  And personally, I would also have access to Edmodo.

My aim is to using other sources to make English language learning more real, fluid, creative interesting; so, generating a transformative learning opportunity for our learners.

I intend to launch this project starting in August (for our next school year (2020/21) for learners who want to be actively be using their English to improve and progress. So this is to give them an extra nudge towards this.

I would very much look forward to speaking with you about the specifics in greater detail.

If you are still interested in this exchange then please let me know of your availability. Also, would you have an email address for Zoom to arrange an initial conference?

    With best regards
