    Hello everyone!
I am looking for recommendations or suggestions for TESOL Graduate programs. I am looking to pursue a master's in TESOL starting the fall of 2023 after I graduate next summer with my TESOL certificate. I am just starting my Graduate School search and thought I would ask here for ideas.
I have an interest in working with older/adult and refugee-background students in the future and am not set on any particular university in which to get my master's or to teach afterward. I am very new to all of this so advice, tips, and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I value the MATESOL I received from Cornerstone University. Here's a link for you to explore: Please let me know if you'd like to talk to someone about the program!

We have excellent TESOL Master's programs at the University of Maryland. There are several options, including an online program, as well as a one-year intensive in-person program and a 2 year in-person program.

    Hey Abi,

You might consider a Master's in Adult Education with a concentration in TESOL.  As of now, Adult Educators do not have to have a Master's but the field is growing and in a few years a Master's may be required, like it is for "kiddie ed" (as I call it, meaning education for K-12).  If you like teaching and working with adults, this is a great option and you might be able to use it for teaching English-speaking adults as well.  Also, consider a Master's in Education for ESL which allows you to teach in the public schools as it will ultimately get you a teaching certificate.  I love teaching adults but there is little money available and many/most of those programs are run through non-profits or teachers are expected to be volunteers.  Great if you have parental/family support but if you have to support yourself you may need to do some K-12 teaching in ESL which is very stable employment and always in demand.  The good thing about the MEd ESL programs is that there is a lot of funding and loan forgiveness programs because K-12 ESL teachers are in such high demand.  Feel free to email me if you want to learn more!

I'm not sure where you are and what area of the US you are interested in, but we have a nice TESOL MA and certificate program offered in hybrid format at Indiana University Indianapolis.

    Hello Abi,

We have a MA TESOL and an MEd. with a focus on TESOL Teacher Education. Since you are looking to work with refugee-background students, you may be interested in our trauma-informed focus which we are currently expanding to a certificate (this is part of the MA/MEd).  Options are: in person, Online in real time, and some online asynchronous.
