    Dear Colleagues,

The information below has been passed to me through a colleague. Please feel free to pass it on as well for those who are interested in teaching in China! Thank you.

    Dear all,

The Teach for China program is seeking motivated and energetic individuals to serve as teachers in Tianjin, China. The mission of the program is to help Chinese youth increase their knowledge of the world and of English.

Additionally, the program strongly believes in the importance of supporting teachers both within and outside the classroom. The program is structured to provide teachers with mentoring and ongoing professional development. Support with cultural adjustment is also provided through local mentors, social activities and events to connect with the wonderful culture and people of China.

I am personally working with the administrators of the program that include a former TEFL certificate student of mine who has been teaching in China for the past 5 years. If you are considering teaching in China, this could be an ideal opportunity.

Here are some details about what is being offered for positions in Tianjin, China:

    • $1,200 - $3,000 US dollars per month (depending on experience and work requirements). Since participants are officially sponsored, they are exempted from certain taxes.

    • Funding to cover cost of TEFL certification.

    • Travel and accommodation subsidy. Flight tickets and a standard studio apartment will be provided.

    • Health insurance including life, accident and medical insurances are specially made for teachers with a total premium of up to $150,000 US dollars.

    • Free meals in workplace. Alternatively, participants can take up a equivalent subsidy.

    • Participants' work visa, work permit and residence permit will be made in a specially efficient procedure.

    • Cultural and social events to make a significant overseas life and experience for teacher. The events range from Chinese arts, social media, technology to public service.

    • Ongoing professional development and support in and out of the classroom.

    • 1 year and half-year contract options.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or Jiesi Luo, program coordinator in Tianjin, China.
