Virtual Exchange Opportunities for K-12 Classroom Teachers

    Dear Colleagues:

I am posting this information on behalf of a group of Twelve TESOL teacher candidates who are classroom teachers in New York City, mostly working at the elementary level. Each of them is seeking to connect with a class out of the States for virtual exchange. Due to challenges in coordinating the time differences, we think teachers who live in Central or South America would be a better fit for this project. The goal is for students to meet virtually for a session or two.

They will be using Empatico (www.empatico.org) as a collaborative tool. Empatico is a non-profit, free of charge, all-inclusive digital platform that helps teachers connect globally. Instead of using their messaging system, individual teachers can choose to connect each other on their own (via emails, WhatsApp or any other communication tool). If deemed desirable, collaborating teachers can adapt Empatico's lesson plans to meet respective classroom requirements. The class will be conducted in English or bilingually.

If interested, please contact Ching-Ching Lin at ching-ching.lin4@touro.edu for further inquiry.

Please respond as soon as possible or no later than February 14, 2020 (time sensitive). We look forward to hearing and collaborating with you.

    Sincerely,

    Ching-Ching Lin
